Aragonite – Mexico

This aragonite specimen from Mexico measures 9 × 8.5 cm and weighs 439 g. Fine, flower-like crystal growth in soft, natural tones gives the piece a sculptural presence while preserving its raw geological character. Aragonite shares the same chemical formula as calcite but crystallizes in a different structure, often forming radiating or coral-like clusters such as this one. Its warm coloring and organic form make it an interesting textural counterpoint to more classically faceted crystal specimens.
