Rock Crystal with Hematite - S

This quartz specimen from Morocco measures 9.5 × 8.5 cm and weighs 395 g. A compact cluster of rock crystal carries vivid hematite inclusions and surface coatings, the clear quartz setting off the rich red coloring left by iron-oxide staining as the crystal formed. Its cluster form, wider than it is tall, gives it a grounded, substantial look for its size.
